Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Mac Woods Dunes Rides

Travel Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

One of the gems on the Lake Michigan coast, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes is the only place you can drive on the dunes! There are multiple places to rent vehicles if you don’t have one fitted for overlanding. If you do have a qualified vehicle, you’ll need an ORV pass to enter the dunes. Another great way to experience the dunes is through Mac Woods Dunes Rides. These are educational group rides (think 15 people on a buggy) that take you on areas of the dunes that only Mac Woods can access. It’s a great experience for the whole family! Other places in the area to add to your trip: Little Sable Lighthouse, Craig’s Cruisers, Big Hart Brewing, The Chicken Shack, Stella’s Coffee, and La Probadita.
